Benjamin Franklin was one of the guiding intellects behind the founding of the United States of America. He was a member of the committee which drafted the Declaration Of Independence, and he served as a delegate to the Constitutional Convention which wrote our Constitution. As a widely-read writer and publisher, he also exerted a major influence on the morals and values of early America. If you want to understand the values and ideas which shaped the USA, you need to read and understand the mind of Benjamin Franklin. His autobiography is a classic piece of American literature, and a "must-read" item for anyone who wants to understand the United States.
