Welcome to the Institute For Christian Policy, at LoveAllPeople.org. Our purpose here is to develop and promote fruitful policies for the Body Of Christ, which is made up of all Christians, worldwide. It is our hope that these policies will benefit all Christians and all Mankind. We are glad you are here.

"Ideas rule the world," and the method we use to accomplish our purpose is to develop powerful ideas clearly expressed in written documents. THE IDEAS ARE BASED ON BIBLICAL TRUTHS APPLIED TO REAL-WORLD SITUATIONS. Then we try to distribute these documents far and wide, wherever they will have the greatest effect. As a base of operations, we maintain this website at www.ChristianPolicy.org We publish our documents first at this website and on selected Internet newsgroups, including alt.religion.christian and talk.politics.misc.

If these policies are acceptable to Christians, they will gradually be implemented through the various channels of influence and authority. If not, they will be ignored. This process is called "Competition Of Ideas," and it is a wonderful force for good.

You are invited to participate, either by sending your ideas to me or by helping to spread and promote the ideas already developed here.

Scriptural Authority

Our Scriptural Authority comes from "The Great Commission," Matthew 28:18-20:

               commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the
               end of the world. Amen.

In The Great Commission, the Lord authorizes us to make make disciples from among all nations and to teach these disciples to observe all of His commandments. These two activities (making disciples and teaching His commandments) are the two most important functions of the Universal Church Of Christ in the world, as directed Jesus, Himself.

Thus The Institute For Christian Policy has full authority, under The Great Commission, to assist and promote these two activities. A third activity flows from these first two: to create and maintain a safe and suitable environment for Christian living. A safe and suitable environment is necessary for the other two activities to be successful, so we will treat it first.

Our Major Areas Of Operation

(1) Maintaining a safe and suitable environment; (2) Making disciples for Christ; (3) Teaching His commandments.

(1) Maintaining A Safe And Suitable Environment For Christian Life

The Main Thing: Try To Live At Peace With Everyone

Here is the main thing, the central thought, the over-riding policy:

As Much As Possible,
CO-EXIST PEACEFULLY
WITH ALL PEOPLE.

The Bible is clear and direct on this point: Christians are supposed to try to live at peace with everyone. Sometimes this is simply not possible, as during World War II with Hitler. But most of the time it is possible; and Christians are instructed to try to live peacefully with everyone.

"IF POSSIBLE, SO FAR AS IT DEPENDS ON YOU, BE AT PEACE WITH ALL MEN." - Romans 12:18 (NASB)

"PURSUE PEACE WITH ALL MEN . . . " - Hebrews 12:14 (NASB)

"DO NOT BE OVERCOME BY EVIL, BUT OVERCOME EVIL WITH GOOD." - Romans 12:21 (NASB)

Try To Be At Peace With Islam, Even While Recognizing Fundamental Incompatibilities

The most fundamental incompatibility between Christianity and Islam is this: The central idea of Christianity, which is that Jesus Christ is the only-begotten Son of God, risen from the dead, is considered to be total blasphemy by Islam. Islam accepts Jesus as a teacher and a prophet, along with all the other prophets who came before Mohammed, the final prophet. But Islam completely rejects the idea, in any form, that Jesus is God. The idea of "God in three persons, blessed Trinity" is anathema to Muslims. When the early Muslims destroyed Christian villages in Asia Minor, they frequently left signs saying, "God does not beget, neither is He begotten." So a true, Bible-believing Christian and a true Koran-believing Muslim will never agree on the nature of Jesus: to the Muslim, He is only one of many prophets superseded by Mohammed. To the Christian, He is God come to earth as Man. This is the one overwhelming irreconcilable difference between Christians and Muslims.

Even so, Christians still need to live at peace with Muslims, although we should never pretend that "we all have the same beliefs, just in different forms." We must agree to disagree peacefully on this question, or else risk continuous violence, perhaps ending in massacres of Christians and the nuclear destruction of Mecca, Medina, and much of the Islamic world.

(2) Making Disciples For Christ

Promote the concept of God as Creator of the universe

This is the natural starting point for our efforts. If people don't believe in God, then they certainly won't believe in Jesus Christ, either. "The Universe was created by Intelligent Design, and the Intelligent Designer was God."

Vigorously Oppose Atheism

The main reason Atheists are Atheists is that they don't want to deal with the reality of a Creator. The idea that the Universe somehow created itself is totally preposterous. But Atheists believe what they want to believe because they do not want to be restrained in any way by believing in God. "Atheists are all in denial."

Support Freedom of Religion everywhere

We live in a vast, multi-cultural word in which many people are hostile to the Lord and His people. We Christians are easily outnumbered by non-Christians. But most people world-wide believe in SOME religion of some sort. And each person wants the freedom to practice his own religion freely and without persecution. Therefore it is in our best interest to support and encourage freedom of religion everywhere, even the freedom to worship idols or Satan or nothing at all. If any religion can be suppressed, we could be suppressed, too. Therefore we should oppose suppression of any religion anywhere. "Freedom of religion helps us promote the Lord."

Support Freedom of Speech and Freedom of The Press everywhere

This is a tough concept to accept, but it is the truth: Any censorship whatsoever can eventually be used to censor the Lord. Even now some people are working to suppress the Bible and Christianity because we supposedly are engaging in "hate speech" by quoting the Bible on the subject of homosexuality. And enemies of the Lord have already succeeded in suppressing most Christian speech in many public places. Try saying "Jesus" in school (other than in a curse) and see what happens! If we permit any censorship of speech and press, we will eventually be censored, as we already have been!

Support Democracy everywhere

The democratic form of government, as we now have it, is a pure gift from God! It is far, far better than any other form ever devised. It is beautiful in its simplicity, always tending to attain "the greatest good for the greatest number" by means of majority rule with minority safeguards. What does "Love your neighbor as yourself" mean? It means to desire his happiness as if it were your own. That is precisely what democracy does: it maximizes everyone's total happiness.

Support Human Rights everywhere

"Love your neighbor as yourself." Everybody in the world is our neighbor. We are all brothers under the Fatherhood of God. All of us are hurt if any of us has his human rights denied.

Address questions of past abuses of the Church

Face it: Satan infiltrated the Church, and we had the Inquistion, in which hundreds of thousand of people were tortured to death or burned alive in the name of the Lord. (This was fresh on the minds of our Founders when they decided that the state must not establish any particular church as the "official" church.)

Face it: in the name of Christ, European powers wiped out millions of native people during the colonial era.

Face it: the Bible describes scenes of brutal destruction, apparently ordered by God.

All of these things need to be dealt with.

Address questions of present criticisms of Christianity.

(3) Teaching The Commandments Of Jesus

Promote the Golden Rule ("Treat others as you would like to be treated.")

Promote The Law Of Love ("Love your neighbor as yourself.")

Promote distribution of The Commandments Of Jesus, in various forms

Promote the distribution of Bibles everywhere, along with related study guides
