OVERVIEW - Because of a series of court decisions, U.S. law now permits dual citizenship, in most cases, with most other countries. Dual citizenship does not disqualify a person from becoming a U.S. government employee, even in policy-making positions. In particular, because of Israel's "Law Of Return," it is extremely easy for American Jews to obtain dual citizenship with Israel. Under this law, any Jew may immigrate to and become a citizen of Israel. It confers Israeli citizenship automatically, without the immigrant having to apply for it, attend any ceremony, or swear any oath of allegiance,

Years ago, when I was driving a taxicab, I once had a trip from National Airport to the National Science Foundation. I had four passengers on this trip, and I overheard them talking among themselves. Three of the four said that they held dual citizenship with the USA and Israel.
