Free, Public Domain Version Of the Text, With MP3 Reading - We located the original first version of this letter, as published by the American Friends Service Committee in May, 1963, months before the later, copyrighted version was written. You can download the entire King James Bible (KJV) free from this page. The KJV Bible that we have here is an excellent Public Domain text, one big file containing the entire Bible. This file is compressed as a *.zip file, so you will need to unzip the programs unzip.exe, pkunzip.exe, or equivalent unzipper. The .zip file is 1.4 megabytes in size. After it is unzipped, the resulting ASCII text file will be 4.7 megabytes in size.

When I edited The King James Clarified New Testament, I started with a good King James Bible Public Domain text, and then I updated the obsolete words to agree with their modern meanings, consulting a list of obsolete words compiled by Noah Webster in 1833. The result has all of the authority of the original King James text, but it is far easier to understand. It is available to you for free at http://patriot.net/users/bmcgin/kjcntpage.html. It is in the Public Domain, so you may use it without restriction.
