Accept Jesus As Lord, Then Be Baptized

Water baptism is not absolutely essential for salvation, because Romans 10:9 tells us the minimum conditions for salvation, and baptism is not mentioned.

"because, if you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and
believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will
       be saved." (Romans 10:9 RSV)

Nevertheless, the Bible teaches us to be baptized. We should do it.

The Biblical way of baptism is by immersion in water, after you are old enough to know what you are doing. Basically, if you are old enough to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord, you are old enough to be baptized.

Baptism by water is mentioned many, many times in the New Testament. Jesus, Himself, was even baptized, by John the Baptist. Many Christians feel it is so important that you cannot properly receive Jesus into your heart without being baptized!

The best way is to be baptized outdoors, in a real stream or river, by a Spirit-filled minister called by the Lord to perform baptisms. You will confess out loud that Jesus is your Lord and Savior. You will ask the Lord out loud to forgive your many sins. Then the minister will dunk you into the water, covering up your head, then bring you out again. The dunking and coming out represent Christ's crucifixion and resurrection. The water, particularly if it is flowing, represents the washing away of your sins.

Here is every reference to baptism found in the Bible. Please read them and let the Holy Spirit guide you in your understanding.
