LOVE DIVINE, ALL LOVES EXCELLING - by Charles Wesley, 1747 -

             Love divine, all loves excelling,
             Joy of heav'n, to earth come down;
             Fix in us Thy humble dwelling,
             All Thy faithful mercies crown;
             Jesus, Thou art all compassion,
             Pure, unbounded love Thou art;
             Visit us with Thy salvation,
             Enter ev'ry trembling heart.
             Breathe, O breathe Thy loving Spirit
             Into ev'ry troubled breast;
             Let us all in Thee inherit,
             Let us find Thy promised rest;
             Take away the love of sinning;
             Alpha and Omega be;
             End of faith, as its beginning,
             Set our hearts at liberty.
             Come, Almighty to deliver,
             Let us all Thy life receive;
             Suddenly return, and never,
             Never more Thy temples leave;
             Thee we would be always blessing,
             Serve Thee as Thy hosts above,
             Pray, and praise Thee without ceasing,
             Glory in Thy perfect love.
             Finish then Thy new creation,
             Pure and spotless let us be;
             Let us see Thy great salvation,
             Perfectly restored in Thee;
             Changed from glory into glory,
             Till in heav'n we take our place,
             Till we cast our crowns before Thee,
             Lost in wonder, love, and praise.

                O Lord, we pray that You will join us now,
                As we have come together in Your name.
                Please let us know that You are really here,
                And help us to be pleasing in Your sight.
                In Jesus' holy name we pray, Amen.

Declaration Of Faith

The Apostles' Creed
   This historic affirmation of faith comes to us from the early
   centuries of the Christian church.
      I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
      Maker of heaven and earth:
      And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord;
      Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost;
      Born of the Virgin Mary,
      Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
      Was crucified, dead, and buried;
      He descended into hell;
      The third day he rose again from the dead;
      He ascended into heaven
      And sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
      From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
      I believe in the Holy Ghost;
      The holy catholic church;     *
      The communion of saints;
      The forgiveness of sins;
      The resurrection of the body;
      And the life everlasting.
                * Note: "catholic church" here means the entire body of
                  believers in Christ, not just one particular church.

   5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty with which Christ has made us
   free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
   5:2 Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if you be circumcised, Christ
   shall profit you nothing.
   5:3 For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a
   debtor to do the whole law.
   5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are
   justified by the law; you are fallen from grace.
   5:5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by
   5:6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision avails any thing, nor
   uncircumcision; but faith which works by love.
   5:7 You did run well; who did hinder you that you should not obey the
   5:8 This persuasion comes not of him that calls you.
   5:9 A little leaven leavens the whole lump.
   5:10 I have confidence in you through the Lord, that you will be none
   otherwise minded: but he that troubles you shall bear his judgment,
   whosoever he be.
   5:11 And I, brothers, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet
   suffer persecution? then is the offense of the cross ceased.
   5:12 I would they were even cut off which trouble you.
   5:13 For, brothers, you have been called unto liberty; only use not
   liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
   5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; You shall
   love your neighbor as yourself.
   5:15 But if you bite and devour one another, take heed that you be not
   consumed one of another.
   5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill
   the lust of the flesh.
   5:17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against
   the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that you
   cannot do the things that you would.
   5:18 But if you be led of the Spirit, you are not under the law.
   5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these;
   Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
   5:20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath,
   strife, seditions, heresies,
   5:21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the
   which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that
   they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
   5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering,
   gentleness, goodness, faith,
   5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
   5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the
   affections and lusts.
   5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
   5:26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another,
   envying one another.

Guest Hymn From Another Website

"Into The Woods My Master Went"

Thanks and blessings to for providing this beautiful music for us.

The Golden Rule . . .
      "Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to
       you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets."
            Jesus, as quoted in Matthew 7:12 (KJV)
Restated for today's time and culture . . .
            "Treat Others As You Would Like To Be Treated"
DEMOCRACY: literally, rule by the people (from the Greek d "people," and
kratos, "rule").
The Golden Rule, "Treat Others As You Would Like To Be Treated," is the
foundation of Democracy, because the Golden Rule directs us to give the
same power to others as we would like to have for ourselves, namely, the
power to make decisions in matters affecting our lives. How much power?
The same as we have ourselves, and this leads immediately to the idea of
"one person, one vote," with all votes being of equal weight. So, Democracy
is the natural result of applying the Golden Rule to the question: "What
kind of government should we have?" Similarly, the Golden Rule leads
directly to the idea of equality of all people under the law.
When it is applied to Politics, the Golden Rule leads to policies which
create "The Greatest Good For The Greatest Number, With Basic Rights For
All." Thus, total good is maximized and none are denied their basic rights
in life. This is a perfect formula for happiness and social stability

Worship Poem

"Our God, Our Help," by Isaac Watts, 1674-1748
 Public Domain
Our God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Our shelter from the stormy blast,
And our eternal home.
Under the shadow of Thy throne
Thy saints have dwelt secure;
Sufficient is Thine arm alone,
And our defense is sure.
Before the hills in order stood,
Or earth received her frame,
From everlasting Thou art God,
To endless years the same.
Thy Word commands our flesh to dust,
“Return, ye sons of men:”
All nations rose from earth at first,
And turn to earth again.
A thousand ages in Thy sight
Are like an evening gone;
Short as the watch that ends the night
Before the rising sun.
The busy tribes of flesh and blood,
With all their lives and cares,
Are carried downwards by the flood,
And lost in following years.
Time, like an ever rolling stream,
Bears all its sons away;
They fly, forgotten, as a dream
Dies at the opening day.
Like flowery fields the nations stand
Pleased with the morning light;
The flowers beneath the mower’s hand
Lie withering ere ‘tis night.
Our God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Be Thou our guard while troubles last,
And our eternal home.

Prayer For You

                  "For Those Who Have Not Ever Met The Lord"
                  For those who have not ever met the Lord,
                  I pray that you might meet with Him today.
                  I pray that He reveals himself to you
                  So clearly that you cannot have a doubt.
                  And when you recognize that it is He,
                  I pray that you will let Him in your heart.

If it doesn't please the Lord, DON'T DO IT!

         If it doesn't please the Lord, DON'T DO IT!
   We have the Holy Spirit within us, right? Holy Spirit will let us
   know if our thoughts and actions are pleasing to Him. Let Holy
   Spirit guide us to please Him constantly.
   Through the Holy Spirit within us, we have the taken on the mind of
   Christ. If it is fully developed in us, we like the same things He
   likes, we feel the same things He feels. This is "advanced
   Christianity" in its highest form!
               "But we have the mind of Christ."
                (1 Corinthians 2:16b KJV)
   Therefore, we know what pleases Him and what does not.
   Since we have given ourselves to Him, and since we know what He likes
   and what He does not like, then we should always give Him what He
   It is our pleasure and our joy to serve Him in this manner.
   This is what we are living for.

"A Mighty Fortress Is Our God"

A MIGHTY FORTRESS IS OUR GOD - by Martin Luther (1529), Translated by
                               Frederick H. Hedge (1853).

           A mighty fortress is our God,
           A bulwark never failing;
           Our helper He, amid the flood
           Of mortal ills prevailing.
           For still our ancient foe
           Doth seek to work us woe;
           His craft and pow'r are great,
           And, armed with cruel hate,
           On earth is not his equal.
           Did we in our own strength confide,
           Our striving would be losing,
           Were not the right Man on our side,
           The Man of God's own choosing.
           Dost ask who that may be? Christ Jesus, it is He;
           Lord Sabaoth His name,
           From age to age the same,
           And He must win the battle.
           And though this world, with devils filled,
           Should threaten to undo us,
           We will not fear, for God hath willed
           His truth to triumph through us.
           The prince of darkness grim -
           We tremble not for him;
           His rage we can endure,
           For lo! his doom is sure;
           One little word shall fell him.
           That word above all earthly pow'rs -
           No thanks to them - abideth;
           The Spirit and the gifts are ours
           Through Him Who with us sideth.
           Let goods and kindred go,
           This mortal life also;
           The body they may kill;
           God's truth abideth still,
           His kingdom is for ever.

      "Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in
       all ways. The Lord be with you all." (2 Thessalonians 3:16 RSV)
