Welcome

Welcome to the online worship service at Internet Church Of Christ. Here is a good place to worship our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. You are invited and are welcome at any time.

Hello Beloved,

If you have the Holy Spirit of Jesus abiding within you, then you are able to endure all trials, blessed with the peace which surpasses all understanding. If not, you remain deprived of the many blessings the Lord has waiting for you. If you have not yet accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour, you have the opportunity to do that now by clicking => HERE! - http://www.loveallpeople.org/jesusdirect.html

Blessings to you in Jesus Christ our Lord.

Opening Hymn

"A Mighty Fortress Is Our God"

A Service Of Christmusic At Internet Church Of Christ - LoveAllPeople.org

Words are by Martin Luther, translated. Music (EIN' FESTE BURG) is by Martin Luther, arranged by J. S. Bach, with MIDI sequence by Bill McGinnis from a published Bach arrangement. Everything here is Public Domain, free for all to use without restriction.

NOTE: This is the most spectacular four-part arrangement of this music that I have ever heard. I found the music contained within a larger published Bach work, and I converted it faithfully by hand into a MIDI sequence with a brisk tempo and strict, uniform meter, keeping Bach's exact pitches and harmonies. Holy Spirit guided this effort more than any other He has ever done with me. Every note was exactly as He dictated. When you get to Heaven, expect to hear this arrangement being sung by angels. Enjoy!

A MIGHTY FORTRESS IS OUR GOD - by Martin Luther (1529), Translated by
                               Frederick H. Hedge (1853).

           A mighty fortress is our God,
           A bulwark never failing;
           Our helper He, amid the flood
           Of mortal ills prevailing.
           For still our ancient foe
           Doth seek to work us woe;
           His craft and pow'r are great,
           And, armed with cruel hate,
           On earth is not his equal.
           Did we in our own strength confide,
           Our striving would be losing,
           Were not the right Man on our side,
           The Man of God's own choosing.
           Dost ask who that may be? Christ Jesus, it is He;
           Lord Sabaoth His name,
           From age to age the same,
           And He must win the battle.
           And though this world, with devils filled,
           Should threaten to undo us,
           We will not fear, for God hath willed
           His truth to triumph through us.
           The prince of darkness grim -
           We tremble not for him;
           His rage we can endure,
           For lo! his doom is sure;
           One little word shall fell him.

           That word above all earthly pow'rs -
           No thanks to them - abideth;
           The Spirit and the gifts are ours
           Through Him Who with us sideth.
           Let goods and kindred go,
           This mortal life also;
           The body they may kill;
           God's truth abideth still,
           His kingdom is for ever.
                        Amen.

   The Essence Of Christianity
            "For God so loved the world, that he gave his
             only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth
             in him should not perish, but have everlasting
             life." (John 3:16 KJV) Commentary

Invocation

       O Lord, we come together in Your name,
       And as You promised, we know You are here.
       AND SO WE WELCOME YOU WITH OPEN ARMS,
       AND PRAY THAT YOU FIND PLEASURE HERE WITH US,
       AS WE, YOUR LOVING CHILDREN WORSHIP YOU.
       We now invite you here to stay with us,
       And linger as we tell you of our love.
       FOR YOU ARE EVERYTHING THAT WE DESIRE,
       AND EVERYTHING WE HAVE, WE GIVE TO YOU.
       In Jesus' holy name we pray, Amen.

Declaration Of Faith

The Apostles' Creed
   This historic affirmation of faith comes to us from the early
   centuries of the Christian church.
      I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
      Maker of heaven and earth:
      And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord;
      Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost;
      Born of the Virgin Mary,
      Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
      Was crucified, dead, and buried;
      He descended into hell;
      The third day he rose again from the dead;
      He ascended into heaven
      And sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
      From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
      I believe in the Holy Ghost;
      The holy catholic church;     *
      The communion of saints;
      The forgiveness of sins;
      The resurrection of the body;
      And the life everlasting.
                             Amen.
                * Note: "catholic church" here means the entire body of
                  believers in Christ, not just one particular church.

Scriptures And Teachings

Praying to Jesus

NOW WE CAN PRAY TO JESUS
JESUS IS NOW LORD OF ALL, WITH POWER OVER ALL THINGS
Matthew 28:18
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and
in earth.
Acts 10:36
The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ:
(he is Lord of all:)
Hebrews 2:8
Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in
subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not
yet all things put under him.
1 Corinthians 15:27
For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under
him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.
THE NAME OF JESUS IS HIGHER THAN ANY OTHER NAME
Ephesians 1:21
Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that
is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
Ephesians 1:20-22 (in Context) Ephesians 1 (Whole Chapter)

Philippians 2:9
Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every
name:

EVEN BEFORE HE WAS CRUCIFIED, JESUS ALLOWED HIS DISCIPLES TO PRAY TO HIM
John 14:13-14
   13And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be
glorified in the Son.
   14If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it

THE BIBLE GIVES CLEAR EXAMPLES OF PRAYING TO JESUS

Acts 7:59
And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.
2 Corinthians 12:7-9
   7And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the
revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to
buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
   8For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.
   9And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made
perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities,
that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Revelation 22:20
He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come,
Lord Jesus.
HERE'S HOW WE PRAY TO JESUS
Begin the prayer as Stephen did, by saying "Lord Jesus."
Then talk to Him in your own words, listening and expecting Him to talk to you.
End the prayer by saying, "In Jesus' name, Amen."

Prayer For You

"A Prayer To Banish Anger From The Earth"

                Perhaps there was a time when man did need
                A way to pump adrenalin inside,
                To get us ready fast to fight or flee,
                From animals or enemies at hand.
                And if so, maybe anger had its place.

                But now it seems that anger is a curse,
                Which causes far more harm than it does good.
                For rarely do we need to flee from lions,
                But often are we harmed by angry men.
                And so we pray that You will hear us now,
                And grant this new request that now we make:
                Please banish, Lord, all anger from the earth:
                Just dry it up, and make it blow away,
                And let it nevermore come back to us.
                We know that You can do this if You wish,
                And now we pray You make it come to pass.
                Forgive us if we seem to ask too much,
                But we, Your children, need this help from You.
                In Jesus' name we pray for this, Amen.

    DEAR LORD AND FATHER OF MANKIND
      by John Greenleaf Whittier
           Public Domain
Dear Lord and Father of mankind,
Forgive our foolish ways!
Reclothe us in our rightful mind,
In purer lives thy service find,
In deeper reverence, praise.
In simple trust like theirs who heard
Beside the Syrian sea
The gracious calling of the Lord,
Let us, like them, without a word,
Rise up and follow thee.
O Sabbath rest by Galilee!
O calm of hills above,
Where Jesus knelt to share with thee
The silence of eternity
Interpreted by love !
With that deep hush subduing all
Our words and works that drown
The tender whisper of thy call,
As noiseless let thy blessing fall
As fell thy manna down.
Drop thy still dews of quietness,
Till all our strivings cease;
Take from our souls the strain and stress,
And let our ordered lives confess
The beauty of thy peace.
Breathe through the heats of our desire
Thy coolness and thy balm;
Let sense be dumb, let flesh retire;
Speak through the earthquake, wind, and fire,
O still, small voice of calm!

Words by John Greenleaf Whitter, from his poem "The Brewing Of Soma," as published in his book, THE PENNSYLVANIA PILGRIM, AND OTHER POEMS, published by J. R. Osgood and Company, 1872.

You can see and read the book, THE PENNSYLVANIA PILGRIM, AND OTHER POEMS, at the Questia online library, by clicking => HERE!

Please note that this poem appears, unmarked, as verses within the larger poem, "The Brewing Of Soma," and that this page is absolutely faithful to the original in its content and format. Various hymnals have modified it for various reasons, but this is the authentic original text, complete, as published.

Blessings to you! May you thrive and prosper in everything you do.
