Featuring The Topic, "We Can Be Christ In The World"

  Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set
  on an hill cannot be hid.
  Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel,
  but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that
  are in the house.
  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see
  your good works, and glorify your Father which is in
                         (Matthew 5:14-16 KJV)
"I'm not perfect, but Jesus uses me.
You're not perfect, and He can use you."

Hello Beloved,

If you have the Holy Spirit of Jesus abiding within you, then you are able to endure all trials, blessed with the peace which surpasses all understanding. If not, you remain deprived of the many blessings the Lord has waiting for you. If you have not yet accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour, you have the opportunity to do that right now by clicking => HERE! -

Welcome to the online worship service at Internet Church Of Christ. Here is a good place to worship our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. You are invited and are welcome at any time. Blessings to you in Him.

JOY TO THE WORLD - by Isaac Watts, 1719 - Public Domain
    Joy to the world! The Lord is come;
    Let earth receive her King.
    Let ev'ry heart prepare Him room,
    And heav'n and nature sing.
    Joy to the earth! the Savior reigns;
    Let men their songs employ;
    While fields and floods, rocks, hills, and plains
    Repeat the sounding joy.
    No more let sins and sorrows grow,
    Nor thorns infest the ground;
    He comes to make His blessings flow
    Far as the curse is found.
    He rules the world with truth and grace,
    And makes the nations prove
    The glories of His righteousness,
    And wonders of His love.

                 O Lord, we know that You are everywhere,
                 And nothing happens that You cannot see,
                 But even so, we pray that You will come
                 And join with us directly at this time.
                 We now will offer up our praise to You,
                 And we do much desire to have You here.
                 In Jesus' holy name we pray, Amen.

Declaration Of Faith

The Apostles' Creed
   This historic affirmation of faith comes to us from the early
   centuries of the Christian church.
      I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
      Maker of heaven and earth:
      And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord;
      Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost;
      Born of the Virgin Mary,
      Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
      Was crucified, dead, and buried;
      He descended into hell;
      The third day he rose again from the dead;
      He ascended into heaven
      And sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
      From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
      I believe in the Holy Ghost;
      The holy catholic church;     *
      The communion of saints;
      The forgiveness of sins;
      The resurrection of the body;
      And the life everlasting.
                * Note: "catholic church" here means the entire body of
                  believers in Christ, not just one particular church.

Scriptures And Teachings

We Can Be Christ In The World

"I'm not perfect, but Jesus uses me.
You're not perfect, and He can use you."

The Lord knows that we are not perfect, but He can use us anyway. We are the imperfect containers of His spirit. In the verses below, we are the "earthen vessels" (pots of clay) which contain His Holy spirit, which is "this treasure."

"For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us."
- (2 Corinthians 4:6-7 KJV)

Satan, who hates us, always tries to make us feel unworthy of claiming to be Christians. Satan wants us to be shy and reclusive about our faith, afraid that we will called hypocrites for not being perfect. And he loves to point out various things we are doing wrong in our lives.

The best way for us to overcome this obstacle is simply to admit that we are not perfect and are not required to be perfect, because the blood of Christ cleanses us from all sin. When we say this, it makes Satan go crazy, because he knows it's true, and he knows he cannot do anything about it. Yes, we are encouraged to be perfect, but perfection is not required. Faith alone is good enough.

This is how Martin Luther handled this exact same situation . . .

Luther's Encounter With Satan Satan uses many wiles to distract and deceive the children of God. Here is a description of how he tried to stop Martin Luther from reforming the church, along with Luther's stunning response.

In the conversations of Luther, which are in some measure a posthumous publication, we read, that . . . Satan, either in reality or in a dream, appeared in the depth of the night, and addressed him in the following terms: "Luther, how dare you to pretend to be a reformer of the Church? Luther, let your memory do its duty - let your conscience do its duty: you have committed this sin - you have been guilty of that sin; you have omitted this duty, and you have neglected that duty: let your reform begin in your own bosom. How dare you attempt to be a reformer of the Church?

Luther, with the self-possession and magnanimity by which he was characterized, (whether it was a dream or reality, he himself professes not to decide,) said to Satan - "Take up the slate that lies on the table, and write down all the sins with which you have now charged me; and if there be any additional, append them, too." Satan, rejoiced to have the opportunity of accusing, just as our blessed Lord is rejoiced to have the opportunity of advocating, took up a pencil, and wrote a long and painful roll of the real or imputed sins of Luther.

Luther said, "Have you written the whole?" Satan answered, "Yes, and a black and dark catalogue it is, and sufficient to deter you from making any attempt to reform others, till you have first purified and reformed yourself." Luther said, "Take up the slate and write as I shall dictate to you. My sins are many; my transgressions in the sight of an infinitely holy God, are countless as the hairs of my head: in me there dwelleth no good thing; but, Satan, after the last sin you have recorded, write the announcement which I shall repeat from 1 John 1:7, "The blood of Jesus Christ cleanseth from all sin." Luther in that text had peace; and Satan, knowing the source of his peace, had no more advantage against him.

- by Rev. John Cumming, 1854

           "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have
            fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ
            his Son cleanseth us from all sin." (1 John 1:7 KJV)
           "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he
            will flee from you." (James 4:7 KJV)

Here is a song on this same subject" "O, The Blood Of Jesus."

O, THE BLOOD OF JESUS - Anonymous - Public Domain

                         O, the blood of Jesus;
                         O, the blood of Jesus;
                         O, the blood of Jesus;
                         It washes white as snow!

             " . . . and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son
              cleanseth us from all sin." (1 John 1:7b KJV)
             " . . . though your sins be as scarlet, they
              shall be white as snow." (Isaiah 1:18b KJV)

                  *                 *                   *
    NOTE: This is a very special and very powerful hymn. Demons hate to
    hear it, and they flee when it is played or sung. If you play or
    sing this hymn repeatedly, it seems to open up a direct channel
    to the Holy Spirit. You will know what I mean when this happens to
    you. I believe that this is perhaps the Lord's very favorite hymn.

Lo, How a Rose E'er Blooming

"Take This Day And Live It For The Lord"
                    Take this day, and live it for the Lord;
                    In everything you do, give praise to Him.
                    The Lord is mighty, merciful and just.
                    He gives us all the strength we ever need.
                    We have no reason ever to complain,
                    For we are His, and He is in control.

Prayer For You

"To Those Who Need Some Extra Help Today"
NOTE: When you read this prayer, try to imagine my voice as I
      speak it to you. In this way, the prayer is reactivated,
      and it is the same as if I were actually praying for you
      at that moment.

                  To those who need some extra help today;
                  Who face a crisis or some kind of test;
                  Or those who feel that they are stuck in mud
                  And can't get out without an extra boost;
                  I pray the Lord will help you in your need.
                  I pray that He will give you extra strength
                  To do whatever things you need to do;
                  And later, when the Lord has need of you,
                  I pray that you will help Him in return.

A ceremony for Holy Communion is available to you HERE! -

If you are alone, you will needed to be both "Leader" and "Assembly," as described in the ceremony.

How To Find A Real, Live Church

An online church is better than no church at all; but it is even better for most Christians to actually belong to a real, live church, with real, live people. Then, you can have your real church PLUS your online church, so you gain the benefits of both. You can find a church for yourself by clicking HERE! -

AWAY IN A MANGER - Public Domain
  Verses 1 and 2 are anonymously written. Verse 3 is by John Thomas
     Away in a manger, no crib for a bed,
     The little Lord Jesus laid down His sweet head;
     The stars in the bright sky looked down where He lay,
     The little Lord Jesus asleep on the hay.
     The cattle are lowing, the Baby awakes,
     But little Lord Jesus, no crying He makes;
     I love Thee, Lord Jesus! look down from the sky,
     And stay by my cradle till morning is nigh.
     Be near me, Lord Jesus, I ask Thee to stay
     Close by me forever, and love me, I pray;
     Bless all the dear children in Thy tender care,
     And fit us to heaven, to live with Thee there.

      "Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in
       all ways. The Lord be with you all." (2 Thessalonians 3:16 RSV)

Blessings to you in Jesus Christ our Lord!

This worship service is now completed. Go in peace.
